One click and you can see what people at the other end of the world are doing right now, broadcast your emotions through out the world, relive any memory, order food, order entertainment, request company, catch up with friends, catch up on knowledge.
One little tap dance on the mobile phone and you can talk with whomsoever you wish, pass private messages, catch up on news, sports and what not.
One stop at a mall, and you can watch movies, have food, buy clothes, groceries and lots of stuff you never knew you needed.
We are the generation of instant gratification, but the problem is, the real stuff that life is all about come after a lot of patience, perseverance and pain. What greater proof than the fact that the beginning of life is heralded by pain.
Unfortunately, no one offers Life 101.
The beginning of life is heralded by pain and the end of life is usually escorted by it too... but what happens in between means different things to different people.
ReplyDeleteWho is to say what 'the real stuff in life' is? Each-one-his-own holds very true here too.
Most things that are worth having do require plenty of patience, perseverance and pain... but I sure have read status messages that said 'Doesnt make sense not to live for fun'.
Methinks the biggest trouble in life is that you only live once. And that too sans re-takes.
PS: Errr... I do remember my hindi-filmy-beta dialogue... but like a good hindi-filmy-ma, methinks you should accept a prodigal son back [:P]

and ya i think the apt dialogue now is
"subah ka bhula agar shaam ko ghar aa jae to usku bhula nahi kehte" [:D] ....(that filmy enough?)

nowadays there's little or no delay between the birth of an emotion and its expression. and this isn't always a good thing.
